Pat D'Acunti

Pat A. D'Acunti, 94 of Fairfield passed away peacefully at home on August 26, 2021.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Pat at the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Thursday September 2 from 9 - 11 AM. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home at 11 AM, and burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Bloomfield. Born in Newark, Pat lived in Fairfield since 1963. He proudly served in the Navy during World War II. Pat worked as a salesman for American Bakeries for many years, and in his retirement took up a second career for the post office, finally retiring from there in 1991. Pat loved the great outdoors. From camping to skiing, he shared his passion for adventure with his family. An avid fisherman, Pat enjoyed ice fishing, fly fishing, deep-sea fishing and crabbing- always being sure to take his loving family along. He was also a dedicated gardener who grew much of his family's own food. Athletic his entire life, Pat competed in 5k races well into his 80s. He was also a talented bowler, and a huge fan of the New York Yankees. Pat had a great sense of humor that brought a smile to many.

Pat was the beloved husband of 69 years to Lucille (nee Ferrara) D'Acunti; loving father of JoAnn Hughes and her husband John, Patricia Stevens and her husband Jeremiah, Karen Fierro and her husband Louis, Jr., and Jeanette Carlson and her husband Richard. He was the cherished grandfather of Jeb Stevens and his wife Nicole, Tara Stevens, Tyler Stevens, Patrick Hughes, Jonathan Hughes, Louis Fierro III, Kirstin Fierro and Sarah Carlson; and adoring great-grandfather of Cody and Jagger. Pat was predeceased by his brother Dominick D'Acunti.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
