Maryann Palamara

d. March 29, 2020

Maryann Palamara (nee Monterosa), 77 of Caldwell passed away peacefully on March 29, 2020 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Wayne.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation at the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Thursday July 16 from 9-11 AM. Born and raised in Belleville with her very close-knit family, Maryann grew up in the same small community with her loving grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles. She graduated Belleville High School and went on to become a licensed cosmetologist. Maryann married Anthony Palamara in 1970, and they resided in Bloomfield where they raised their children. Maryann always loved animals, and throughout the years she cared for several cat colonies and worked diligently to have them spayed and neutered so that she may safely care for them as part of her neighborhood. In 2019, Maryann moved to Caldwell where she continued to spend time playing in her weekly card games at the Cedar Grove Library, getting together with her cooking club, and constantly finding new activities to participate in at the local library.

Maryann was predeceased by her parents Ralph and Jean (nee Ficeto) Monterosa, and by her beloved husband Anthony Palamara in 2006. Maryann will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind, her loving son Michael Palamara and his wife Catherine, daughter Christine Palamara, her former son-in-law Edward Varjian; beautiful grandchildren Calista, Mikaela, Benjamin and Anthony. Maryann also leaves behind to cherish her memory her dearest sister Theresa Beltram and her husband Dennis, brother Ralph Monterosa and his wife Ruthann, sister-in-law Linda Tunnero and her husband Jimmy, brother-in-law Leo Palamara and dearest uncle Benny Ficeto. She is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.  Maryann's proudest moments were spent with her family, and she will be deeply missed by them.
