Blandina Rosa Tavares, of Newark passed away on September 1, 2021.

The daughter of Manuel Maria Da Cunha and Blandina Rosa Tavares Da Cunha, Blandina was born on August 14, 1928 in Portugal.

She was the wife of the late Jose Manuel Tavares, mother of Maria Elizabeth Tavares and the late Victor Manuel Tavares; grandmother of Antonio Julio Galinha and Daniel Jose Tavares; great-grandmother to Gabriela Oliveira Galinha. She also left behind extended family and beloved friends.

She died due to COVID complications, if not for that she would have made it well beyond 100 years of age!

Blandina we love you and you will be dearly missed, but not ever forgotten.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass for Blandina at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 403 Spring St. Elizabeth on Wednesday September 8 at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Galante Funeral Home in Union.
