William Rogozenski, (also known as Bill, Billy, and Red), a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and veteran, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, in his home, surrounded by loving family and friends.
A man of great kindness, compassion, and faith. Remembered for his easy-going personality, and deep love and commitment to family and friends.
Bill, a long-time resident of Union, NJ was born in 1927 in Flushing, Queens, and was raised in Bayonne, NJ. Bill is the beloved son of William and Veronica (nee Kozlowska). Loving husband of the late Adeline (nee D'anna). Father of Kara, and her partner, Mike, Roger, and wife, Ilyse. Cherished grandfather to Taylor and husband Thomas, Olivia and fiancé Kevin, Andrew, Emma, and Hunter. And brother to the late John, Edward, Joseph, Richard, and Harriet Jacovino, and many loving nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Bill, a proud Korean War veteran, loved his country. In 1950 Bill enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Hamburg, Germany. Bill served from 1950 to 1956.
In 1960 while vacationing at Spring Lake, Bill met the love of his life, Adeline. Bill and Adeline were married and moved to Union, NJ where they lived for 60 years and raised a family. Bill was a Lab Technician in the Research Division with Maxwell House, Hoboken, until his retirement in 1987. During Bill's retirement he took up the hobby of carving and was known for his wildlife carvings including decoys, birds, and owls.
Bill enjoyed traveling throughout the US, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. Bill's favorite vacation vacation spot was Vermont, which he and Adeline would travel to every fall to enjoy leaf peeping. Most of all Bill enjoyed spending time with his beloved family. Bill's legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and friends.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Springfield, NJ at 10am on Wednesday, September 24th, followed by entombment at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
