Victoria Salacup Balut, 80, of Union, New Jersey passed away on January 2, 2026. Born in the Philippines, she migrated to the United States in 1991, bringing with her an unwavering dedication to her family.
For 20 years, Victoria thrived as a businesswoman and government employee in the Philippines. In the United States, she became a Home Health Aide with Visiting Nurse Angels in Caldwell, New Jersey, dedicating 10 years to providing compassionate care to those in need. After retiring in 2010, Victoria turned her energies to managing a resort in the Philippines, a hobby that brought her immense joy and fulfillment. Victoria was more than just a hardworking professional; she was a nurturing caregiver who devoted her later years to looking after her three nephews Joshua, Jephthah, Jeremy Gamo and grandchildren Michael Carlo and Caitlyn Grace Nilo.
An avid gardener, Victoria found peace and joy in tending to her plants, even nurturing her garden during celebration occasions like Mother’s Day. Her culinary skills were matched only by her love for cooking. Whether she was singing her favorite "oldies but goodies" from the 60s and 70s, dancing, or sewing, Victoria embraced life fully, even the simpler pleasures.

And her sisters: Bella Palugod and her husband Rodolfo; Aniceta Dugay and her husband Bienvenido; and Marlene Gamo and her husband Joel.
She is further survived by her grandchildren: Michael Carlo S. Nilo and his wife Noelle; Caitlyn Grace S. Nilo; Gebric Sanchez and his wife Lea; Gervik Sanchez and his wife Pen; Mariah Sanchez and her husband Zedrik; and Nadine Sanchez.
