Theodore ‘Teddy’ Rak
May 4, 1956 – September 17, 2025
Teddy passed away peacefully at the age of 69 and is reunited with his beloved parents Wojciech Rak and Antonina (nee Szostek) and two loving sisters, Anna Wisniowski (nee Rak) and Helcia Rak (who he had not met since she passed prior to Teddy’s birth).
Teddy lived a humble life bringing joy to everyone he met. Family celebrations and holidays were the most joyous and cherished times for Teddy. Born in Straszydle, Poland, Teddy, together with his parents and siblings, emigrated to the United States in 1961. He lived in Newark, Irvington, Spotswood, and most recently in Union.
Teddy leaves behind two sisters, Adolfina Paluch (nee Rak) and Helena Lipski (nee Rak); three brothers, Stanley, John, and Richie; as well as many nieces and nephews. Teddy was deeply loved and will be missed by all whose lives he touched: family, friends, and neighbors.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Teddy at the Galante Funeral Home (serving the legacy of the Parkway-Wozniak Memorial Home), 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Monday September 22 from 4-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Irvington on Tuesday at 10 AM. Interment will follow at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery in Doylestown, PA.
