Stella Mroz

Stella Mroz (nee Chojnowski), 88 of Colonia passed away on January 25, 2023.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Stella at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Sunday January 29 from 1-5 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph the Carpenter Church in Roselle on Monday at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery in Doylestown, PA.

Born in Stawiski, Poland, Stella immigrated with her family at age 16 to Brooklyn, NY, where she lived until moving to Roselle. After her husband's retirement, they relocated to East Stroudsburg, PA. She has lived in Colonia with her dear son for the past six years.

Stella met the love of her life, Stephen V. Mroz while the two worked at the Domino Sugar Factory. After marrying, Stella became a dedicated home maker, and a loving mother. She was an avid gardener at her Pennsylvania home, and she enjoyed sewing. She was also a talented cook. Above all, Stella cherished time spent with her family.

Stella is predeceased by her parents, Josef and Malgorzata (Oldechowska) Chojnowski, her beloved husband Stephen V. Mroz, and her son Stephen G. Mroz. She is survived by her loving son Christopher Mroz and his wife Melissa, and treasured grandchildren Scott Inderwies, Stephen Mroz, Christina Mroz, Laura Mroz, and Joseph Mroz, and by her daughter in-law Patricia Mroz.
