Silvestro Marano

Silvestro Marano, 97, of Elizabeth, NJ passed away on Tuesday, September 22 at Trinitas Medical Center in Elizabeth.

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, September 27 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Avenue. The Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, September 28 at St. Theresa's Church in Kenilworth at 10:30 AM, followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.

Born in Monteforte Irpino, Provincia di Avellino, Italy, Silvestro lived in Elizabeth, NJ for the last 71 years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosina Marano. He was the loving father of six children: Filomena Karabinchak, Antoinette Mistretta and her husband Paul, Anthony Marano, John Marano, Carmella Colella, and Carmine Marano and his wife Doris. He was a cherished Nonno to Melissa Barto, Paul Mistretta Jr., Nicole Augburn, Gabrielle Colella, Antonio Colella, Alexis Modreski, Christian Marano, and Rebecca Marano, and a loving great-grandfather to Timothy, Adelyn, Bella, Annabeth, John, and Athena.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
