Sharon L. Stavrakis (nee Brogan) 59, of Union died on Wednesday December 7th, 2011 at Overlook Hospital.
The funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Avenue, Union, on Saturday at 8:30 am. Funeral mass at St. Michael Church Union at 10:15 am. Interment is in Hollywood Memorial Park. Visitation is Friday 6-9 pm. For directions or to send condolences visit galantefh.com.
Born in Montclair she lived most of her life in Union. She was a media clerk for the Union Twp. Board of Education working at both Hannah Caldwell, and later Franklin Schools for 13 years. At the same time she also worked in the office of Dr. Leff in Roselle Park for 6 years. She was also a member of various prayer, bible, and support groups in the area.
Sharon was married to her late husband Louis N. Stavrakis until he died in 1998. She was the mother of Georgia, Yiana, Nicholas, and Minas Stavrakis,the daughter of Joan (nee Ackerly) and the late John Brogan. She was the sister of Linda Del Guercio, Kathy Kruse, Jackie Di Leo, Jim, John, Brian, and Tom Brogan. She was also the daughter in law of Georgia N. Stavrakis, and the sister in law of Michael, Mino, Tom, and Fran Stavrakis, and the companion of John Broesler.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to The American Heart Association 1 Union St. Suite # 301, Robbinsville, N.J. 08691 in her memory.
