Sarah Wasty was born Sarah Yasmeen Syed to Dr Anwar H Syed and Shameem Jehan Syed in Lahore , Pakistan on November 6, 1960.
Sarah grew up with a most mischievous twinkle in the eye in Amherst Massachusetts where her father was a professor of Political Science at U Mass with frequent long sabbatical visits back home to Lahore. On one such sabbatical visit she met her to be husband Najam; there was an instant spark and fireworks leading to an almost half a century of marital bliss.
Living in Short Hills NJ. Sarah raised two beautiful kids Scheherazade and Danial taking them on trips all around the world and reading to them every night. The Kids developed equestrian pursuits prompting a move to horse country where she spent the last 20 years of her life on a horse farm in NJ.
She was blessed with dozens of doting
cousins and scores of loving friends making for a life of fulfillment and happiness. She fought her illness with strength, dignity and with a fierce unwavering family support. Ultimately such was God’s Will.
She is survived by her devoted husband Najam, two loving children Dani and Schaz and two adoring brothers Sameer Syed and Amer Syed, and many relatives all ardent about her quick wit, unabashed spontaneity and sincerity.
We all mourn together and say farewell to her with a heavy heart.
