Rudolf A. Cicchino, 84 of Newark passed away on April 24, 2013.

Funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home, 17 Pacific St. Newark on Saturday at 8:30 AM. Funeral mass is at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Newark at 9:30 AM. Interment is at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation is on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

Born in Newark, Rudolf was a lifelong resident of the Ironbound. He was a parishoner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and was a member of the Holy Name Society there. He was a recipient of the 25 year service award and Man of the Year award this year. A choir member and former church musician; he also traveled with the USO. He was a warehouse manager at Federal Storage in Newark for 43 years, retiring in 1989. A man of the arts, Rudolf was a humanitarian to many members of his neighborhood. He also served his country in the Navy from 1946-1948.

Rudolf was the husband of the late Lavada (nee Smith). Loving father of Rudolf Jr. and Albert Cicchino; and Laura Ann Rawa. He was the grandfather of 8 and great-grandfather of 15.
