Rosina (Rose) Partesi, 88 of Howell passed away peacefully on Friday February 25, 2022.
Rose was born on March 8, 1933, and was raised and resided in the Ironbound Section of Newark before becoming a resident of Brandywine Assisted Living at Howell for the last four years.
Rose was a graduate of Oliver Street School and East Side High School. She went on to work at Vita Var Paint Company for many years before becoming Secretary to the President of Federal Bronze Alloys until she retired in 1988.
Rose was very active in the community during her retirement years. She was a member and Past-President of the Italian-American War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary, Newark Post No. 8. She was also a member of the Newark Ironbound Senior Citizens Friday Club, along with the Senior Citizens Club of Union, NJ. Rose was also a member and past First Vice-President and President of AARP, Chapter 4026 in Union. She was dedicated to her Catholic faith and was a devout parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church for over 60 years, all while being a member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society and the Holy Name Society.
Rose thoroughly enjoyed cruising to the Caribbean and traveling to different states across the country with family and friends.
Rose was predeceased by her parents Pasquale and Antoinette Partesi, her sisters Jennie DeGeorge, Marie Labato and Marge DelliSanti, and by her brothers Anthony and Edmund Partesi. She is survived by her loving niece, Donna Gittleman, who was her primary caregiver for the past four years, along with many other nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and several great-great-nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Rose at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Wednesday March 2 from 3-7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 259 Oliver St. Newark on Thursday March 3 at 10:30 AM, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
Although Rose never had children of her own, she cherished all of her nieces and nephews. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. Her memory will remain in our hearts forever.
