Robert John Meade, 62 of Caldwell passed away at home on August 24, 2021.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Bob at the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Friday August 27 from 4-6 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Roseland on Saturday at 10 AM. Burial will be held privately.
Born in Montclair, Bob was a longtime Caldwell resident. A graduate of James Caldwell High School's famous Class of '77, he went on to attend Montclair State University, and earned a degree in Quantitative Management. After working 35 years in the construction rental business, Bob proudly founded and owned Caldwell Event Outfitters.
Bob was an avid golfer, and a great soccer player for many years. He enjoyed playing soccer regularly until he was 50 years old. He was able to pass on his passion for the game by coaching youth recreational soccer in town. Affectionately known as 'Bob the Builder', Bob enjoyed tinkering around the house, and could fix just about anything. He was an all around good guy who always had a warm smile on his face. Bob most treasured time spent with his loving family.
The son of John and Marylou (nee Bainbridge) Meade, Bob was the beloved husband to Ava (nee Lombardi) Meade; loving father of Megan Meade and her husband Patrick Sheehy and Samantha Meade and her husband Matthew Krayton; dear brother of Kenneth Meade and his wife Cecilia and Cathy Cordier and her husband Doug. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Joanne Borrus and her husband Jules.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Caldwell Police Department, especially Officer Candace Marinaro for her dedicated service and prompt life-saving efforts, which gave Bob several more years to enjoy with his family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Caldwell Police Foundation, PO Box 188 Caldwell, NJ 07006.
