Philomena Asilo

Philomena V. Asilo (nee Zarrello), wife of the late Julius V. Asilo, of Springfield, N.J., died on June 22, 2025 at the age of 91.

Philomena was born in Newark, grew up in Union and has lived in Springfield since 1950. Before marrying Julius, Philomena worked for The Prudential Insurance Company in Newark.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children; John and his wife, Esther, Julius and his wife, Tammy, and Jeanne Wasserman and her husband, Mitchell; her grandchildren; Jason, Matthew, Jared, Nicholas, Alexandra, Zachary, Jennie and Anthony; and her great-grandchildren Ryan, Colton, Tyler, Kinsey, Memphis, Daisy and Nash.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26th at 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Galante Funeral Home in Union, NJ. Funeral Service will be on Friday 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ.
