Paul Manegold

Paul Manegold, age 99, passed away on December 23, 2024. 

He was born and raised in Hillside, New Jersey before later moving to

Irvington where he lived with his wife, Lorraine (deceased 1990).

He was a delivery driver for Mrs. Mac Baking Company in Newark with

routes in NJ/NY. He later worked at Singer-Kearfott Corporation until his

retirement. He then devoted his time and skills to landscaping with his

son, handyman repairs for friends and family as well as veteran events

and bible study. Paul was Chaplin’s Assistant on the USS Indiana during

World War II.

He loved to travel and enjoyed activities such as trips to the Jersey Shore,

casinos, restaurants, concerts, movies, plays and malls/shopping centers.

Paul spent many years living in south Jersey including Brick, Toms River,

Manchester and Keyport where he enjoyed many activities and made long

lasting connections with friends. Paul loved to listen to music in his

apartment and spend time with his neighbors. A friendly face who always

had a smile and warm hug for anyone who needed it, Paul was generous

and loving to all who knew him.

Paul, lovingly known as “PopPop”, was most proud of his 13

Grandchildren, 27 Great-Grandchildren, 4 Great-Great Grandchildren as

well as all the adopted family and friends he has made over the years.

Paul is survived by his six (6) biological children: Margaret Hoffman,

Blanche Reed, Paula Scialfo, Paul F. Manegold, Julia Freudenvoll and

Howard Manegold.

Funeral from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave in Union on Monday December 30.

Visitation on Monday from 9 - 11AM.

A wake service will be held at 10:30 AM in the funeral home followed by interment at Clover Leaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge.
