Patsy “DoDo” Ragonese, Jr. 80 of Maplewood passed away on March 22, 2012 at St. Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston surrounded by his wife and loving family and friends.
The funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave., Union on Saturday at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Newark Ironbound at 9:30 AM. Visitation on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Patsy was born in Newark and lived in Maplewood for 50 years. He was the co-owner of Patsy Ragonese & Sons, Newark for over 60 years before retiring 10 years ago. He was proud to serve in the the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Ann “ Tony” Loredo. His son Patsy III and his wife Kathleen. His daughters Betty Ann “Liz” Hendricks and her husband John; Marie Collinson and her husband Tom. His sisters Catherine Bertero and Helen Corsi. His sister-in-laws Angela and Chris Ragonese. He is also the loving grandfather of Sara, Katie, Tommy, Tricia, Christopher, Anne, Brianne, Patsy IV, D J, Jake and Matthew. Great grandfather of Kristina.
The Ironbound Section of Newark was an integral part of his daily life from his early days of playing football with his brothers for the Ironbound Dukes. He continued forming and maintaining strong relationships throughout the community.
