With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Patrick Rafique, 38, of Union, NJ, on September 22, 2024. A beloved husband, father, son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend, Patrick touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know him. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his life at a visitation at Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave., Union, on Thursday, September 26, from 5-9 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Spirit Church, Union, on Friday at 10:30 AM, followed by interment at Graceland Memorial Park.
Born in Trinidad & Tobago, Patrick moved to Queens, NY in 1988, then to Union, NJ in 1998, where he built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and friendship. As a plant operator for Con Ed in New York, Patrick was admired for his dedication and hard work. A proud graduate of Union High School, Patrick was so much more than his accomplishments—he was the light in every room, the laughter in every conversation. His energy, warmth, and humor were infectious, and he had an unmatched ability to make friends wherever he went.
Patrick's true love and everlasting commitment was his family, the center of his world. As a devoted son to Dino and Lorraine Rafique, a cherished fiancé to Stephanie Alvarez, and a loving father to Layla, Savannah, Scarlett, and Sienna, he devoted himself fully to those he loved. His siblings, Sheldon, Nicholas, Timothy, and Laura Marie, knew him as not just a brother but a best friend, and his extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, nieces, and nephews will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
Patrick's life was a gift to the world, and his legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire those left behind. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Though he is no longer with us, the light Patrick brought into this world will never dim. He will live on through the memories, the stories, and the deep love that will forever surround his name. Rest in peace, Patrick. You will be missed more than words can ever express.
