Neuza Maria Da Cunha Souza Bornacelli

Neuza Maria Da Cunha Souza Bornacelli, a beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away at home on November 10, 2025, at the age of 97. Born on April 9, 1928, in Brazil, she enriched the lives of those around her with her warmth and kindness.

Neuza was born in Brazil on April 9, 1928. She immigrated to Newark, New Jersey in 1967 where she continued to build her life.

Neuza was a talented seamstress who eventually transitioned into her career as a nurse’s aide, dedicating her compassionate care to others until her retirement at the remarkable age of 88.

Neuza is survived by her loving sons, Pergentino Jose Da Cunha and Jose Tadeu Da Cunha Dias; her cherished daughter, Shirley Bornacelli; and her dear brothers, Antonio Trinidade Da Cunha and Antonio Maria Zacarias Da Cunha. She was also the sister of the late Alfredo Lima Da Cunha. Manuel Lima Da Cunha, Adriano Lima Da Cunha, Orlando Busco Da Cunha and Ruben Raimondo Da Cunha; and is also survived by her sister, Maria Alba Corzantes; and her grandsons, Rodrigo Da Cunha and Rafael Da Cunha.

Neuza's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her life was a testament to resilience, hard work, and the boundless love of a family matriarch. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those fortunate enough to have known her.

Cremation will be held privately. Arrangements are in the care of the Galante Funeral Home.
