Nancy Josephine DiComo, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully Sunday November 9 th at her home in Caldwell, New Jersey, surrounded by her loving family. She was 83 years old.
Born in Newark, NJ on May 30 th , 1942 from parents Carmen and Agnes Cicurillo. Nancy was known for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. She built a beautiful life filled with compassion, laughter, and kindness that touched everyone who knew her.
Nancy graduated from Caldwell College in 1962 with a degree in Education and Social Studies. She earned a master’s degree in education from Kean University and 2nd master’s degree in special education from Montclair State College. She also earned several additional graduate certifications in education. Nancy dedicated much of her life to education, where she was an Administrator employed by the Newark New Jersey Board of Education for 50 years. She was admired for her hard work, dedication, and care for others. Outside of her professional life, she loved spending time with family, friends, gardening, and cooking. Her home was always a welcoming place for friends and family.
She is survived by her loving son, Charles DiComo III, and his wife Kimberly, along with her cherished grandchildren Thomas John, Skylar Barbara, and Riley Jean. Nancy is also survived by her devoted sister, Meg, and her husband Don, and their son Brian, as well as her brother, Carmine, his wife Carol, and their son Joshua.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a visitation for Nancy on Friday, November 14 th from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Galante Funeral Home, located at 54 Roseland Avenue in Caldwell. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, located at 28 Livingston Ave, Roseland. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery located at 712 Grove Street in Montclair.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nancy’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others.
Nancy’s kindness, humor, and grace will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
