Michael P. Ceres, 68, of Caldwell, New Jersey, passed away on June 25th, 2026.
Michael was a committed Property Manager with Legacy Real Estate Group, where his passion for real estate was evident in both his work and the pride he took in helping others. His knowledge in the industry, dependability, and strong work ethic earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
Michael is predeceased by his mother, Judith Russell. He cared for her through her battle with cancer, tirelessly transporting her to treatments and standing by her side selflessly with love and compassion until her passing. The bond they shared was one of unshakeable devotion.
Michael is survived by his son, Patrick Ceres, who was not only his only child but also his best friend. Their relationship was built on dependability, realism, humor, and countless conversations that took place with daily phone calls to one another. Whether Patrick needed advice, someone to listen while he vented, or simply wanted to just talk, Michael was always just a phone call away. He was a reliable presence in Patrick's life, a realist with a practical outlook, and someone whose steady guidance brought comfort. Patrick will forever cherish the lessons, conversations, and memories they shared together, and will miss his father beyond words.
Outside of work, Michael found joy in hobbies and interests that reflected his thoughtful personality. He enjoyed bowling, playing computer games, exploring audio and video technology, following the real estate market and stocks, and always appreciated learning something new. As a lifelong fan of Star Trek, he recently fulfilled a special interest by attending a Star Trek tour in Upstate New York, an experience that brought him great happiness.
Michael will be remembered for his reliability, honesty, and practical nature. He was a devoted father, a caring son, and a friend who was always willing to listen or lend a hand. His presence, advice, and steady support will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Loved ones are invited to a memorial service for Michael on Tuesday, July 7th, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Galante Funeral Home, located at 54 Roseland Avenue in Caldwell.
