Marianna Pontoriero

Marianna Pontoriero 88 of Newark passed away at JFK Medical Center in Edison on July 1, 2012 with her family by her side.


The Funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. , Union on Friday at 8:30 AM. The Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church , Newark at 9:30 AM. Entombment at Hollywood Memorial Park . Visitation is on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. For directions visit galantefh.com.



Born in Newark she was raised and lived in Spilinga , Calabria Italy before returning to the Ironbound Section in 1961. She worked as a packer for Chase Chemical Company in Newark for 25 years. She was also a member of Societa Spilingese Madonna della Fontana in Newark .



She is the beloved wife of the late Antonio Pontoriero. The beloved mother of Giuseppe Pontoriero, Michael Pontoriero and his wife Anna, Eleonora Aloe and her husband Salvatore and the late Pasquale Pontoriero


The sister of Antonio Miceli, Giuseppina Barritta and the late Michele and Francesco Miceli, Antonietta Miceli and Domenica Zappia. Grandmother of Elisa, Marianna, Antonio, Susan, Anthony, Francesco and Joseph. Also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
