Maria Salgado

On February 1st, Maria Salgado, 86, of Barnegat, New Jersey passed peacefully at Complete Care at Shorrock Gardens in Brick Township, New Jersey.

Maria was born on February 15, 1935 and grew up in Spain. She lived in Newark, Irvington and Maplewood before moving to Barnegat over 40 years ago. She loved boating, crabbing and fishing. She thoroughly enjoyed the summer months with her grandchildren on the lagoon in her backyard in Pebble Beach, Barnegat.

Maria was the beloved wife to the late Narciso Salgado, loving mother of Dr. Luis Salgado Sr., devoted grandmother to Damian and his wife Jadwiga, Luis Jr., and Erin and her husband Wilson , as well as adoring great-grandmother of Joseph, Riley, Mateo and Adrian. She is also survived by her sister Lina, her brother Eloy and sisters-in-law Oliva and Julie. In addition to many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the visitation at 8:30 am – 930 am at Galante Funeral Home, funeral mass at St. James Church in Springfield at 10 am followed by entombment at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union.
