Montserrat Sanchez, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on December 24, 2023. Montserrat was born and raised in Sobrado, Spain, a country she held dear to her heart throughout her life.

In 1971, Montserrat embarked on a new chapter of her life when she immigrated to the United States. Montserrat's proudest accomplishments centered around her role as a mother and grandmother. She raised three children and was blessed with the joy of nurturing six grandchildren. Her love and dedication were evident in the strong bonds she formed with each family member.

On December 30, 2023, friends and loved ones will gather to pay their respects during a visitation event at Galante Funeral Home in Union, New Jersey. The event will begin at 3:00 PM and conclude at 7:00 PM.

Montserrat passed away peacefully surrounded by her immediate family. While we mourn the loss of such an extraordinary individual, we also celebrate the incredible legacy she leaves behind. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Montserrat is preceded in death by her beloved husband Ramon Sanchez, her son Gilberto Sanchez, her daughter Sira Fernandez, her brothers Victor Lopez, Paulino Lopez, Manuel Lopez, Salvador Lopez, Eloy Lopez, and sisters Corona Lopez, Lucrecia Lopez, and Brigida Lopez.

Montserrat is survived by her loving daughter Julia Alonso and son-in-law Jose Alonso. She is also survived by her devoted son-in-law Manuel Fernandez. Montserrat's memory will be cherished by her adoring grandchildren Eddie, Dennis, Manny, Davey, Melissa, Steven, and great-grandchildren Abby, Ethan, Luka, Alessia, Mateo, Juliana, and Stella.

In honor of Montserrat's life and the love she shared with everyone around her, let us remember her with fondness and celebrate the everlasting impact she had on our lives. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

May Montserrat Sanchez rest in eternal peace.
