Maria "Loli" Dolores Irizarry

Maria D. Irizarry, 88 of Elizabeth passed away on April 30, 2022.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Loli at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Monday from 4-8 PM. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, with prayers offered in the Chapel Mausoleum. Born in Spain, Loli moved to the Ironbound Section of Newark in 1963, where she lived for 20 years until settling in Elizabeth. She worked as a seamstress in her younger years but was most proud of being a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Loli was the beloved wife of the late Elpidio "Pete" Irizarry; loving mother of Roberto Irizarry and his wife Cynthia and Maria Irizarry; cherished grandmother of Sean and Keighly, and dear sister of Mina Abascal Galdos and the late Jose Manuel Abascal Galdos.
