Maria Antoinette Fanelli

Maria Antoinette Fanelli, 83 of Fairfield passed away on November 16, 2023.

Funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Wednesday November 22 at 8:30 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Notre Dame Church in North Caldwell at 10 AM. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation is at the funeral home on Tuesday November 21 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

Born in Newark, Maria lived in Belleville for many years before settling in Fairfield in 1978. She worked for American Ford Insurance Company in her younger years, before joining her husband at his business, I&F Electric, as an essential office manager for many years. Maria was a member of the Federation of Italian-American Societies of New Jersey, and served as President of the ladies auxiliary of the United American Club.

Maria loved life and all that came with it. She loved being with her family and friends. She always had a passion for cooking and baking, it brought her such joy and happiness to entertain.

The daughter of the late Orazio and Ottavia (nee Recchia) Iacobelli, Maria was the beloved wife of 66 years to Anthony Fanelli; loving mother Ralph Fanelli and his wife Elena and Gina Houmis and her husband Richie; and the treasured grandmother of David Fanelli and his wife Melissa and Adam Fanelli and his wife Elizabeth. She was predeceased by her loving grandpup Bella who she adored.
