Maria Estella Rodriguez, 66, cherished daughter of Mama Tona and Papa Pocholo, gracefully departed from this world on March 25, 2024 at Saint Barnabas Hospital, Livingston, N.J.
Maria was not just a grandmother; she was the heart and soul of our family, affectionately known as "Yaya" to her grandchildren and "Estella" to her sisters and close relatives. She was a devoted mother to her two children, Andrea and Jessica.
Maria's life was a testament to kindness. Her gentle spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Born in Uruguay, Maria immigrated to the United States with a dream of becoming a U.S. citizen, a dream she wholeheartedly achieved.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion. Maria is survived by her loving children, Jessica and Andrea, her sons-in-law Wilson and Alex, and her beloved grandchildren: Austin, Brian, Cathrine, Dawson, Ethan, Miguel, Marisol, and Ashley. She is also survived by her ex-husband Douglas, her sisters Christina, Laura, and Mabel, and many nephews and nieces. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory and goodness will forever remain in our hearts. May her kindness and warmth continue to inspire us all. Rest In Peace, our beloved Yaya.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Ron Mowad Funeral Home & Cremation Service (Located in the Galante Funeral Home), 2800 Morris Avenue, Union, N.J. on Monday April 1st , 2024 from 12:00 pm till 1:30 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Hollywood Cemetery, 1621 Stuyvesant Avenue, Union, N.J.
