Maria Lizete Duarte Pires

Maria Lizete Duarte Pires, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025 at the age of 71. Born on November 25, 1953, in Paradela, Portugal, Maria was the beloved daughter of the late Ricardo Saraiva Troviscal and Alzira Henriques De Melo. She later migrated to the United States in 1988, where she built a loving home and raised her family. Maria was predeceased by her parents, her husband Nelson Pires Duarte, her sister Natalia, and her brother Raul. She is survived by her loving son Jhonny Duarte, devoted daughter Monica Duarte Joseph and son-in-law Damian Joseph, and her cherished grandson Carter Joseph. Maria also leaves behind a host of dear family and friends who will hold her memory close to their hearts.Maria loved to dance, to laugh, and to talk. Always bringing light and joy to those around her. She could walk into any room and instantly start a conversation, making everyone feel seen and heard. Being around people brought her happiness, and her warmth left a lasting impression on all who met her. She had a deep love for gardening, especially growing vegetables. With hands that seemed blessed, anything she planted would bloom; a true reflection of her nurturing spirit. Her home was always adorned with beautiful flowers, lovingly dedicated to Nossa Senhora de Fátima, a devotion close to her heart.Maria also held a special affection for children and a tender respect for the elderly. Her kindness spanned generations; she was patient, nurturing, and always willing to give her time, her smile, and her heart. Above all, Maria loved her children deeply, and her grandson Carter was the apple of her eye. Her memory will forever bloom in the hearts of those who loved her.

Nascida em 25 de novembro de 1953, em Paradela, Portugal, Maria era a filha amada dos falecidos Ricardo Saraiva Troviscal e Alzira Henriques De Melo. Mais tarde, emigrou para os Estados Unidos em 1988, onde construiu um lar amoroso e criou sua família. Maria foi precedida na morte por seus pais, seu marido Nelson Pires Duarte, sua irmã Natalia e seu irmão Raul. Ela deixa seu amado filho Jhonny Duarte, sua dedicada filha Monica Duarte Joseph e seu genro Damian Joseph, e seu querido neto Carter Joseph. Maria também deixa uma série de queridos familiares e amigos que guardarão sua memória perto de seus corações.Maria adorava dançar, rir e conversar. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitation at the Galante Funeral Home in Union, NJ, on October 13, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Mass will be held on October 19th at 5:30 pm at Christ the King Church in Hillside
