Lucien "Lou" Vessichelli
"Man among Men"
Lucien "Lou" Vessichelli, 81 of Roseland passed away on September 9, 2020.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Lou at the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Saturday from 9:30 - 11:30 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Roseland at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
Born in Newark, Lou was a West Caldwell resident for 42 years before moving to Roseland five years ago. He worked as a foreman for Wire Fabricators & Insulators in Fairfield until retiring 20 years ago. Lou was a talented handyman, and was truly happiest bringing along his toolbox to help out friends and family.
To Lou, family was everything. He cherished time spent with his adoring wife, children and grandchildren. Always beyond generous, Lou helped anyone that was in need, and was beloved by all who knew him. One of Lou's proudest accomplishments was receiving a patent for Tensilock, a device he invented. Lou could recite that patent number until the very end.
Lou was the cherished husband of 60 years to Marion (nee Fusella) Vessichelli; loving father of Louis Vessichelli and his partner Deb, and Debra Vessichelli. He was the proud grandfather of Nicholas, Samantha and Mia, brother-in-law of Joanne Knott and her husband Stevie and Vincent Fusella and his wife Paula, and is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Lou was predeceased by his sister Diane Lepore.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of NJ.
