Louis Zayas of Roselle passed away on August 24,2026

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Louis at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Wednesday, August 26 from 5-8 PM. A graveside service will be held at Rosehill Cemetery, 792 E. Edgar Ra. Linden on Thursday at 11 AM. Those attending the burial are asked to meet by the cemetery office at 10:45 AM.

Some people leave behind memories. Others leave behind an entire collection of stories, laughter, and moments that can never be forgotten. Louis Zayas was one of those people.

At 53, Louis leaves behind a life filled with family, hard work, friendships, laughter, and the countless little moments that made him who he was.

Louis was a man who worked hard and took pride in providing for his family. For 37 years, he dedicated himself to his career as a dairy manager at ShopRite in Elizabeth.

He had a special love for the New York Giants and never needed much of an excuse to talk football. Whether he was watching or attending a game it was something he enjoyed.

Louis had a way of making people feel good simply by being around him. He was funny, playful, and full of life. He could turn an ordinary moment into something worth remembering,
His absence will be felt in ways that words cannot fully describe.

The devoted son of Patricia Zayas and the late Louis “Wiso” Zayas.
For 28 years, Louis shared his life with Soraida, building a family and a lifetime of memories together. He leaves behind his children, Desiree, Darius, Dynasia, Isaac, and Donte, and his granddaughter, Soulene the daughter of Dynasia. He was the cherished brother of Michael and Dina and the beloved uncle of Maya and Tia, Michaels daughters.
His greatest legacy will not be measured by the years he worked or the places he lived, but by the people he loved and the lives he touched.

His children will remember their father in their own individual way; the conversations, the jokes, the lessons, the celebrations, and the ordinary days that they never realized would one day become precious memories.

Louis leaves behind extended family, and friends who each have their own story about him, another joke he told, another memory that makes them smile, another moment that reminds them exactly who he was.

Louis had a heart that extended far beyond his immediate family. He welcomed Darius’ friends into his life and his home, loving them and treating them as though they were his own. His kindness, generosity, and warmth made everyone who crossed his path feel valued, accepted, and part of the family. The boys will all think of Louis, knowing that wherever he is, he’ll have the best seat in the house front row, cheering on his Giants, just like he always did.
