Died Feb 11, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Lindamary Ann Postighone announces her passing after a long fight with Cancer on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the age of 70 at home in New York. Lindamary will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 49 years, Neil, and her son, Clifford, her mother, Roberta Trani, and her sister, Gale Smith. She was a long time resident of Glen Ridge, and Mantoloking New Jersey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Lindamary at the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Tuesday February 16 from 3-7 PM. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
Lindamary was born in Union City, New Jersey and graduated from Jersey City State Teacher’s College with a major in Art. Her artistic talents and creativity have always been the predominant force in Lindamary’s life along with her insatiable desire to giving her time volunteering at the Senior Care of Montclair and to socializing animals so that they could be placed in good homes, supporting a healthcare facility in the Dominican Republic, and assisting many community organizations that needed help and finances to continue their work
Her organizational skills went mostly unnoticed because of her quiet nature. She originated the Glen Ridge Art Shows and was a founding member of the Guarino Family Reunion, her adopted family via Neil’s aunts and uncles. Her business talents were also an asset: taking over her father's clothing factory in Union City, where she introduced a new clothing line and was the business manager for her husband's Specialty Management Company.
Her holiday decorations were legendary throughout the Glen Ridge community. Her favorite holiday was Halloween, Year after year, the trick and treaters continued to escalate at the Postighone door while they passed through a myriad of pumpkins, witches and obstacles adorning the pathway.
In lieu of flowers, Lindamary would be pleased for donations to be sent to an animal shelter of your choosing in your local community.
