Lena Colavita, 95 of West Caldwell passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026. Born in Newark, New Jersey, Lena then spent the last 60 years in West Caldwell, where she cultivated a life rich in experiences and love.
Throughout her career, Lena served as an insurance clerk before dedicating the latter part of her professional journey to Panelgraphic, where she worked as a general helper for an impressive 25 years, retiring in 2000.
Lena's spirit thrived not only in her professional endeavors but also through her many passions and interests. She found joy in the company of others, relishing long walks and shared dinners that fostered connections with family and friends. A lover of the vibrant energy found in New York City and an avid traveler, Lena greatly cherished the adventures she shared, especially during family tours that featured her husband, the late Jack Colavita, showcasing his professional pool-playing talent.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, Jack P. Colavita Jr., and her daughter, Cynthia A. Colavita. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Nicholas Colavita and his wife Lauren, Brielle Colavita, and Cory Colavita, along with her great-grandchildren, Olivia and Christopher, who carry forward her spirit of joy and exploration.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Lena's life during a visitation on Thursday January 15, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Galante Funeral Home 54 Roseland Ave., Caldwell, New Jersey.
