J osephine Peake (nee Mugavero), 91, of Union, passed peacefully on March 31, 2020, at home, with her family at her side. She was born in Newark, NJ to the late Bennie Mugavero and Geraldine Cerrato Mugavero. After graduating from West Side High School, Josephine worked at Sid Harvey Industries and Gibralter Bank as a bookkeeper. She met her beloved husband of 63 years, Ronald Peake, in Newark and they married in 1956. In addition to her husband Ronald, Josephine leaves behind her devoted children, Pamela Warner and her husband Gil and Ronald Peake, Jr. She is also survived by her cherished cousins, Deborah Nobile, and her husband Phil, and Michele Mannino, her husband Steve, and their children, Christopher and Julia. Josephine also leaves behind her half-siblings Ben, Joseph and Anna Marie Mugavero and many adoring nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Josephine was predeceased by her loving siblings
Phillip (Rich) Mugavero, Michael Mugavero, and Caroline Mugavero Diaz.
Josephine was a homemaker who was truly dedicated to her family.
She always gave us wise, loving advice and we will truly miss that.
Josephine was proud of her Italian heritage. She delighted her family with her cooking,
especially her macaroni and meatballs with homemade gravy.
Everyone looked forward to her Christmas baking, especially her delicious chocolate chip cookies.
Josephine loved music, especially Frank Sinatra, the Eagles, Ricky Nelson, Glen Campbell and Barry White.
She had a great sense of humor and was the life of the party at family gatherings.
Funeral services will be private.
A celebration of Josephine's life will be held later, when family and friends can gather safely.
