Joseph Gary Luciano, 68, of Rahway, known as Gary to his family and friends, formerly of Linden, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019 at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

The Funeral Mass will be at St. Joseph’s Church in Maplewood on Friday at 10 am. Interment to follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. Gary was born and raised in the Vailsburg section of Newark, and then lived in Linden for 42 years prior to moving to Rahway. He was employed with the recreation department in the Township of Linden before being appointed supervisor there for the past 10 years. He worked at Supermarkets General in Carteret as an audit manager for 21 years. A 1968 graduate of Essex Catholic, Gary also graduated Kean University in 1972 and was a member of Nu Delta Pi Fraternity there. He was also an active member of the Alumni Board at Kean University for 18 years. He served over 50 years as an active member of Regina Pacis Council 4066 Knights of Columbus, in Maplewood as Past Grand Knight, Past District Deputy, Past Faithful Navigator, and Past President of the Essex County Federation. Gary was a former city councilman of Linden. He loved the Yankees, Seton Hall basketball and was a devoted NY Giants fan.

Gary was the son of Alice (nee Morris) and the late Joseph A. Luciano;  Beloved husband of Maria (nee Mandrillo); loving father of David and his wife Nicole, Nicole and her husband Jim Reagan; brother of Richard, Kenneth, Daniel, Christopher, Diane Luciano, and Jane Barker.; grandfather of James, Madison, and Nora.
