Joseph Lombardo, Jr.

Joseph Lombardo, Jr., 86 of Union passed away on February 9, 2023.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Joseph at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Monday February 13 from 3-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Church in Union on Tuesday at 10:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park.

Born in Newark, Joseph served the City of Newark as a police officer from 1964-1994. He was a Newark resident until moving to Union in 1964. An avid golfer, Joseph most treasured time spent with his family. He especially cherished opportunities to watch his grandchildren play sports.

Joseph was the beloved husband of the late Joan A. (nee Lanza) Lombardo. He was the loving father of Marissa Rendeiro and her husband Manuel and Jennifer Pinho and her husband Francisco; and proud grandfather of Francisco Pinho, Jr., Gianna Rendeiro and Manuel Rendeiro, Jr. He is also survived by his brothers Charles Peter Lombardo and his wife Carol, and Salvatore Lombardo, by his sister-in-law Dolores Lombardo, his brother-in-law John Lanza, and by his nephews Alan Raimo and his wife Tracey and Chris Raimo (Heather). He was predeceased by his brother Anthony Lombardo, and by his in-laws Angela Lillian Raimo, Alphonse Raimo and Ann Lombardo.
