Joseph M. Devito

Joseph Michael Devito, 28 of Kenilworth passed away on April 10, 2026.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Joseph at the Galante Funeral home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Friday April 17 from 3-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park on Saturday at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park.

Born in Rahway, Joseph was raised in Roselle Park and lived there until moving to Kenilworth four years ago. A graduate of Roselle Park High School in 2016, Joseph began a career in law enforcement in 2017, and proudly joined the Union County Sheriff's Office in 2019.

Joseph found peace in camping and spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed going out to camp in Pennsylvania and living in the moment. Joseph had a soft spot for Italian specialties, and especially liked good prosciutto and mozzarella. 

An avid fisherman, Joseph found solace working on his cars and motorcycle, and taking photos of those he loved. He was all in with anything he did, and when he loved you, he would do anything help you out. 

Above all, Joseph was a loving husband and father, and deeply treasured his wife, son and family.

Joseph was the loving husband of Theresa; loving father of Luciano; devoted son of Regina Devito and the late Paul. He was the cherished brother of John Devito and his wife Anna and Anthony Devito and his wife Ella; grandson of Anna Devito; son-in-law of Toni and Charles Zignauskas, brother-in-law of Matthew Zignauskas and his wife Christy, and uncle of Paul Devito. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins friends and colleagues.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph's memory may be made to the family to be used for Luciano's education. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
