Josefina Rojas passed away on November 28, 2024, leaving a legacy of love and kindness in her wake. Born in Venezuela and living there until the last year of her life, she dedicated her life to the pursuit of justice while serving as a secretary in the Supreme of Justice in Caracas. Her unwavering commitment to fairness and her tireless advocacy for the rights of others defined her career and reflected a strong moral compass.
Josefina is predeceased by her mother Josefina Rojas, whom she shared her name with. She is survived by her brothers Alfredo Felix Rojas and Carlos Felix Rojas, as well as her sisters Antonita Rojas and Elizabeth Felix Rojas. She also leaves behind her loving daughter Maylin Jaramillo and her husband Daniel Arellano.
Josefina was a woman of deep values, she exemplified these qualities through her everyday life. She was a loving mother to Maylin, who cherished not just her mother, but the numerous lessons in kindness and respect that Josefina imparted throughout her life. As a devoted family-oriented person, Josefina’s warmth and humility fostered close bonds with her loved ones, who will forever remember her as a kind soul always willing to lend a helping hand.
Her education, culminating in a Bachelor's degree in Venezuela, was just one marker of her determination to uplift herself and set an example for her daughter. Josefina’s gentle spirit and resilience are encapsulated by cherished memories of her giving the best advice and embodying a life led with integrity. Coming from humble beginnings herself, she never lost her capability for empathy, offering support and guidance to those around her.
As we remember Josefina, we celebrate her remarkable journey filled with dedication, love, and sacrifice. Her presence will be missed dearly; however, her legacy of compassion and strength will live on in the lives she touched and the hearts she warmed throughout her time with us.
Friends and family are invited to honor Josefina's memory during visitations on December 3, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and a Prayer Service beginning at 11:00 AM. Both services will take place at Galante Funeral Home-Union Location, located at 2800 Morris Ave in Union. Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park located at 1500 Stuyvesant Ave in Union, NJ.
