Jose E. Taboada 95 of Newark died on Monday Dec. 26th, 2011 at Clara Maass Medical Center in Bellville.
The funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union, on Thursday at 8:30 am. Funeral mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, in Newark, at 10:30 am. Entombment to follow in St. Teresa Cemetery in Summit. Visitation is Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
Born in Pontevedra, Spain, he lived in Venezuela before moving to the Ironbound section of Newark 43 years ago. He was the Co-Owner and founder of Newark Motor and Export Corp. for 37 years retiring 30 years ago. Also he was a member of Club Espana, and Centro Orensano in Newark.
Jose was married to his wife Elvira (nee Gamallo) for 67 years, and was the father of Neir T. Nogueiras and her husband Jose, Herminia T. Ulker and her husband Dr. Erol Ulker, Jorge and his wife Betty, and the late Jose Taboada. He was the brother of Elena Taboada, and Josefina Solla. He was also the grandfather of Sandra Caruso, George Nogeiras, Ashley, Kaitlin, and Lisa Ulker, and Ariel and Valerio Taboada.
