Jose N. Lopes

Jose Neves Lopes, 82 of Elizabeth passed away on October 1, 2025.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation for Jose at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Saturday October 4 from 2-4 PM, with a funeral service being held at 4 PM.

Born in Portugal, Jose served in the Army before immigrating to the United States. He moved to Newark in 1976, and later settled in Elizabeth in 1999. Jose loved to dance, and had many fond memories of trips to the Dominican Republic. Jose was a talented gardener, and was especially proud of the beautiful fruit trees he so lovingly cultivated.
