Jose Costa, Jr., 79 of Newark passed away on September 30, 2023.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Joe at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Thursday from 4-8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 11 AM. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park.
Born in Newark, Joe was a lifelong resident. For 52 years, he worked as a longshoreman for ILA Local 1235 until his retirement in 2014.
The son of the late Jose "Pepe" and Aurora Costa, Joe was the beloved husband of Carol Ann (nee Matusiewicz) Costa; loving father of Janet Ann Costa; and the dear brother of Balbina Cernadas (Al), Manuel Costa (late Lucy) and Ramon Costa.
