José Silvestre

José Silvestre, 61 of Hillside passed away on March 9, 2022.
The son of Francisco and Maria Silvestre, José was the beloved husband of Esmeralda Silvestre and the father of Fabiane Sousa and her husband Márcio Sousa. Loving grandfather of Sofia and Emily, who were the lights of his life. He was a devoted brother to Conceição Silvestre. He was also a second father to Carlos Silva.
José was born in Covas de Ferro, Portugal. He lived the past 36 years in Elizabeth and Hillside. He was an electrician by craft and took pride in his work. He was a mentor to many.
José was loving, caring and hardworking. He lit up the room with his smile and gave the shirt off his back to help others. He was a family man and loved playing with his granddaughters. His other love in life was Benfica.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for José at the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave in Union on Tuesday March 15th from 4PM - 6PM.
