Joanne Milana Doman

Joanne Milana Doman, born and raised in Union NJ, died at the age of 80. True to her word, she went out on her own terms, sleeping peacefully in her bed next to her loving husband with her favorite rosary beads held tightly in her hand.

Her memory will live on by husband, Joseph Doman, her daughter, Trisanne Crosby Vricella and husband Dominic, son, Richard F. Crosby and wife Patricia. Also survived by her brother, Sam Vincent Milana and his wife Anna, her sister in law, Janet, her stepchildren Cathy L. Doman, her Husband Doug Kennedy and Karen Roy. The light in “Nonna J’s life were her grandchildren, Mandy, Shannon, Erica, Victoria, Olivia, Joseph, Charlie and Zachary.  She also adored her nieces and nephews.

Joanne was a quick witted woman with a great sense of humor who loved engaging in lively conversations at family gatherings.  A teacher for 28 years, she never let a misspelling or grammatical error go uncorrected. Growing up across the street from St. Michaels Church and attending Mount Saint Mary’s Academy, Joanne was a woman of unshakeable faith and generosity.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's Church in Union on Friday November 5 at 10:15 AM. Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park.
