Jeffery Valentine

Jeffery Valentine, 67 of Elizabeth passed away on July 8, 2023.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Jeff at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Wednesday July 12 from 4-8 PM. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home at 7:30 PM. Cremation will be held privately.

Born in Newark, Jeff was a longtime resident until moving to Elizabeth 11 years ago. He was a proud sheriff's officer with the Essex County Sheriff's Department for 25 years prior to his retirement in 2017. Jeff also volunteered for the Ironbound Ambulance Squad.

Jeff was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed practicing at the shooting range. He cherished time spent at the Keansburg boardwalk, and seeing the latest Harry Potter movies. His family also remembers special day trips that they took together, especially to Jeff's favorite, Medieval Times. His step-daughters will never forget how excited he was around Halloween, when he would decorate the house and take them trick-or-treating.

Jeff was predeceased by his dear mother Catherine Valentine. He was the beloved husband of Helena Rainho; loving step-father of Christina and Stephanie Seda. He was the special uncle of David Adamczak and his wife Christine, and their son Eddie. He was also predeceased by his cousin Elena Solla, his aunt Helen Solla, and by his God-daughter Laura Adamczak. He is also survived by a host of other relatives and extended family members.
