Jean Helen Menza

Jean Helen Menza, 78 of Mountainside passed away at home on February 17, 2026.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Jean at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Friday February 21 from 4-8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 10 AM. Entombment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.

Born in Rahway, Jean was raised in Linden and has lived in Mountainside for the past 50 years. She worked as a secretary for various government agencies, notably the DEA, IRS and the Justice Department for many years prior to her retirement 25 years ago. Jean was a wonderful cook, and most treasured time spent with the ones she loved.

The daughter of the late Theodore and Helen Sponoski, Jean is survived by her loving husband Patrick Menza. She was the dear sister of Carol Wadiack and her husband John, sister-in-law of Joseph Menza and his wife Veronica and Daniel Menza and his wife Karen. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, and by her dog, Pepper.
