Jason Lafortune

Jason J. Lafortune, 33, of Newark, DE, went home to be with the Lord on January 25, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Good Shepherd Church, 285 Nesbit Terrace Irvington on Monday at 10 AM. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park. Visitation is on Sunday from 1-5 PM at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union.

Jason was born on February 10, 1983 in Newark, NJ. A survivor of childhood leukemia, he graduated from NJIT with a Bachelors of Science in information technology, and went on to attain a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Delaware. Jason had aspirations to earn a PhD and become a business owner. He was a proud West Indian, and although he loved to travel, disliked flying.

Jason loved spending time with his family, but above all else loved being a father to Jordan Jason Lafortune, and a partner to his longtime girlfriend Laura Johnson.

Jason is also survived by his loving parents Sharon and Jean Lafortune; grandfather Alfred Lee; grandmother Hilda Lal; sisters Katia and Nicole; beloved little brother Phillip; and countless uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
