Gregory Barry

Gregory Joseph Barry, 63 of Newark passed away on November 1, 2021.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation for Greg at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Friday December 3 from 3-6 PM, with a celebration of his life to be held at 6 PM. Interment will be held privately.

Greg was a longtime Union resident until moving to Newark. He worked as a server and bartender in the hospitality industry for many years. Greg treasured being in the company of his friends, and never knew a stranger. He cherished time spent with his nieces and nephews, and also enjoyed days at Vanada Woods in Brick with his family.

The son of the late Michael and Agnes (nee Mahon) Barry, Greg is survived by his siblings Michael P. Barry and his wife Florence, James J. 'Jim' Barry and his companion Louanna Ross, William P. 'Will' Barry and his husband Miles Afsharnick and Virginia A. 'Ginny' Wilson and her husband Richard. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews James and Emily Barry, Scott Barry, Francis and Chris Mays, Michael and Kourtney Barry, Dr. Bryan Wilson, MD, Kristen and Eric Zmuda, and also by several great-nieces and nephews.
