Gladys D. Bohorquez

Gladys D. Bohorquez, affectionately known as "Yayis" and "Papa," passed away on December 25, 2025, in Queens, NY, at the age of 72. Born on September 15, 1953, in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Gladys embarked on a new chapter in her life when she visited the United States at the age of 15, a cherished birthday gift from her dad, Juan Bohorquez. She initially settled in the Bronx before finding her home in Queens, where she devoted her life to raising her family.

Gladys was known for her strong personality and self-assuredness. She had a kind heart and was always willing to help others without expecting anything in return. Her warmth and generosity left an indelible mark on those who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Jonathan Ingles; her daughter, Steffy Bohorquez; her brothers, Juan Bohorquez, Jorge Bohorquez, and Luis Bohorquez; her sister, Jenny Bohorquez; and her cherished grandchildren, Jacob, Eliana, David, and Avril.

Gladys was predeceased by her father, Juan Bohorquez, and her mother, Emma Delgado.

A visitation will be held in her honor on December 30, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Galante Funeral Home-Union Location, located at 2800 Morris Ave., Union, NJ. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same location starting at 12:00 PM, concluding with interment at Hollywood Memorial Park at 1:00 PM.

Gladys D. Bohorquez will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, generous heart, and the loving legacy she leaves behind in her family. Her impact will be felt for generations to come.

Se celebrará un velorio en su honor el 30 de diciembre de 2025, de 10:00 a 12:00 horas, en la Funeraria Galante-Sucursal Union, ubicada en 2800 Morris Ave., Union, NJ. Tras el velorio, se llevará a cabo un servicio fúnebre en el mismo lugar a partir de las 12:00 horas, que concluirá con el sepelio en el Hollywood Memorial Park a la 1:00 p. m.Gladys D.
