Giuseppe Pontoriero 89, of Newark passed away on February 24, 2016.

Funeral  from the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Saturday at 8:30 AM.

Funeral mass is at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 AM in Newark.

Entombment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum.

Visitation Friday from 4 to 8 PM.

Giuseppe was the husband of the late Antonia (nee Pontoriero); father of Pasquale (Marianna), Fred (Rose Marie) and Michelina Tavella (Antonio).

Brother of Eleonora Pontoriero and Giuseppina Atanasio

Grandfather of Eleonora, Antonella, Gianna, Joseph and Thomas.

Giuseppe was born in Spilinga, Italy, and lived in the Ironbound section of Newark since 1971.

He was a long time member of the Spilingese Club in the Ironbound.
