The Funeral is at the Galante Funeral Home 17 Pacific St, Newark Ironbound on Wednesday at 8:30 AM followed by
Funeral Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Newark at 9:30 AM.
Entombment is at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3-8 PM.
Born in Cuba, Mr. Lavin was a resident of the Ironbound since 1968.
He was a longshoreman for International Longshoreman Association Local 1235 in Newark for 35 years before retiring in 1999.
Gerardo is the husband of Maria Dolores Lavin.
He is the father of Marc G. Lavin and Denise B. Lavin.
Brother of Jose M. Lavin and his wife Miriam and Jose Emilio.
Gerardo is also survived by four nieces and one nephew.
