Frank Anthony Vespe

Frank Vespe passed away on May 9, 2024 at his home in Kensington MD. He was 92.

Frank and the former Joan Hansbury were married for 39 years, until her passing in 2003. Frank was also predeceased by his brother Vincent and sister Jean, as well as parents Salvatore and Mary Vespe. Frank is survived by his son Frank and daughter-in-law Erin (Powell) Vespe, as well as niece Jackie, nephew Vincent, and beloved great-niece Gabriella Vespe.

Born and raised in Paterson, NJ, he later lived in Essex Fells, NJ for 50 years before moving to Maryland. He received a Bachelor's degree from Fordham University and a Master's from Rutgers and also served in the United States Army. An accountant by trade, he worked for Curtiss-Wright and later Tenneco Chemicals and concluded his career as the Director of Public Works for Essex County. He and his wife Joan also owned the Book Tree, a bookstore in New Providence, NJ, for a number of years.

A lifelong New York Yankees fan, Frank also enjoyed travel and discussing politics and current events.
