 Frank H. Ulrich, of Toms River, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, January 1st, 2026 at the age of 83. 

The son of Frank Ulrich (1921-1945) and Dorothy (Francis) Ulrich (1920-2004), Frank was born in Irvington, New Jersey. Frank’s younger years would be spent mainly within the greater North Jersey region. As a young man Frank would follow in his father’s footsteps and serve his country in the U.S. Air Force, and would be stationed both domestically in Texas and abroad in France. Shortly after leaving the armed forces, Frank would meet the love of his life Lucy, and the two would enjoy 60 years of marriage. 

Throughout his life, Frank worked as a Landscape contractor, eventually branching out and running his own successful business for 25 years. Outside of his work, Frank had been a lifelong painter, inspired by the works of Norman Rockwell. In addition, Frank had been an avid gamer from the 1980s onward, enjoying everything from the early arcade games to releases on modern consoles. Frank was a kind soul, and took great pride in the accomplishments of his sons and grandchildren. Never taking himself too seriously, Frank was known by friends and neighbors for his sense of humor and friendly disposition towards all those fortunate enough to cross paths with him. A lifelong animal lover, Frank’s kindness was also extended to any pets he would meet as well. Frank was not materialistic by any stretch of the imagination, and focused on building a good life. Altogether, Frank was not just a pillar of the Ulrich family, but of his extended family as well. 

Frank was predeceased by both his sister Janet (Ulrich) Farruggia, and his son Mark L. Ulrich. Frank is survived by his wife Lucy (Ferroni) Ulrich of Toms River, New Jersey, his sons Frank H. Ulrich Jr. (wife Clarice), Louis M. Ulrich, daughter-in-law Beth (Frank) Ulrich, and grandchildren: Frank R. Ulrich, Bianca (Ulrich) Palma, Geneva L. Ulrich, Peyton Ulrich, Mark J. Ulrich, Miranda Ulrich, Alexandria M. Ulrich, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

 Funeral services are to be held on Monday January 5, at Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union, New Jersey. His visitation will be held from 2-6 PM, with a service celebrated at 5:30 PM.
